OSKALOOSA, IA — Sing current and classic pop, Broadway, and Disney with friends while learning the fundamentals of singing! Build your confidence and enjoyment of music with group lessons at the George Daily Music Studio starting April 7th.

Group lessons are every Saturday between April 7 and May 19. 3rd – 6th graders will meet at 10 a.m. and 7th and 8th graders will meet at 11 a.m. There are seven available slots for each age group.

“The group lessons are geared towards students in late elementary and middle school because many students at the age know they enjoy singing, but aren’t vocally ready for one-on-one training,” said Allison McGuire, Music Education Director at the George Daily Auditorium. “Group lessons give them a chance to learn about breath control and pitch matching and recognition in a fun group environment. They get a chance to explore their love of singing.”

Sessions teach basic vocal technique, performance skills, ear training, and sight-reading proficiency while enjoying the camaraderie and community that comes from singing together.

There are limited slots available for individual lessons in voice and piano for the spring semester. Lessons will also be open during the summer.

The George Daily Music Studio is run by Allison McGuire. Allison has been teaching music professionally since 2010 in Chicago, Des Moines, and Oskaloosa. She has a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her students have been selected for the All-State and Opus honors choirs, received perfect scores at Solo and Ensemble Contest, been cast in leading roles at the Des Moines Playhouse, been selected for the Bill Riley State Fair Talent Show, performed with the Des Moines Metro Opera, and sung the national anthem for the Iowa Cubs.

Contact Allison McGuire at music@georgedaily.org or 641-672-3795 to register for the class or for more information. Tuition is $140/student for 7 classes.
