Community Invited to Farewell Open House

The Mahaska County YMCA

OSKALOOSA – A familiar face at the Mahaska County YMCA will no longer be seen after March 20. Following 12 years of service to the Y, Membership Engagement Director Lisa Martin has given her resignation. She and her husband are moving to Kansas, and March 20 will be Martin’s last day.

A Farewell Open House in honor of Martin will be held March 17 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The community and all Y members are invited. Refreshments will be served. A short program will begin at 11:45 a.m. in the Y lobby where YMCA Board President Madonna Bowie will be speaking and making a special presentation.

“I will miss the Y and all the people I have come to know,” said Martin, “but I’m excited too and looking forward to the move.”

The Y board has successfully hired a new Membership Engagement Director, Katy Greene, who is already on board and being trained by Martin before Martin’s final day. Greene is an Oskaloosa native and ready to step into Martin’s shoes.

“I’m very excited for this opportunity,” said Greene. “Lisa is teaching me a lot already. I know my marketing background will be very useful and being born and raised in Oskaloosa is a plus. I grew up in the Y and am looking forward to this new chapter in my life,” said Greene.”

The YMCA Board and Directors publically thank Lisa Martin for her commitment and dedication to the Y and formally invite the entire community to stop by on March 17 to say goodbye. The Mahaska County YMCA is located at 414 North 3rd Street in Oskaloosa. For more information call 641.673.8411 or visit the Y on line at www.MahaskaYMCA.org.
