Christmas Toy Drive to be held at William Penn University

Oskaloosa, IA – Sodexo Food Services at William Penn University will hold a Christmas Toy Drive on Wednesday, December 7, from 4:30 – 7:00 p.m. Students, as well as the community, are invited to donate a new, unwrapped toy and enjoy a free holiday dinner served by the Oskaloosa Police Department and the Oskaloosa Fire Department.

“We’ve been doing this for several years, but this is the first year we’ve also included the fire department,” said Oskaloosa Police Chief Jake McGee. “We’ve always served the students but this year it is also open to the public.”

The event will be held on the top floor dining hall of the Dana Atkins Memorial Union on the Oskaloosa campus. Encouraged donations include unwrapped toys such as a puzzles, dolls, toolkits, board games, and action figures. Individuals wishing to dine without a toy donation may still be served a meal for $8.00.

Participating in this event is Sodexo Food Services, William Penn University, the Oskaloosa Police Department and the Oskaloosa Fire Department. Donated toys will be delivered to Blank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.
