Oskaloosa–A top-25 road loss was not too damaging after all for the William Penn men’s basketball team as the NAIA released its sixth Division I rating Tuesday.

The Statesmen (18-4, 11-3 Heart), who fell to now-#17 Peru State (Neb.) last Saturday, are now #7 with 199 points. MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) jumps up to #20, while Avila (Mo.) is in the receiving votes section, unofficially 31st in the NAIA.

LSU Alexandria takes over #1 for the first time in school history (245 points, five first-place votes), while Georgetown (Ky.) (four votes), Columbia (Mo.), Pikeville (Ky.) (one first-place vote), and Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) round out the top five.

William Penn is home Wednesday, hosting Grand View in Heart of America Athletic Conference action at 7:30 p.m. The game also serves as the annual Toilet Paper Game, so get to the gym early for a good seat.
