The Christmas season is rapidly approaching and the Oskaloosa Area Association of Churches (OAAC) invites you to be a part of the Annual Tour of Homes. OAAC is giving people more opportunity to visit and share in this Holiday Tradition, by inviting you to tour on Saturday evening, December 5, from 3-7 p.m. and on Sunday, December 6, from 1-5 p.m. We invite you to share the time visiting these beautifully decorated homes, visiting with friends, and preparing for the Christmas Season. The host church this year will be the Central Reformed Church. The following homeowners are opening their homes for you this year, Nadine Rozenboon, Kim and Marvin Bloem, and Wanda Gardner. Each home is unique in style and will be decorated so you can enjoy the home’s beauty and decor.

Tickets can be purchased in advance at Mahaska Drug, Book Vault, and the Oskaloosa Chamber office. Tickets can be purchased the days of the event at Central Reformed Church, where you can enjoy coffee and cookies, and at each home. All profits from the Annual Tour of Homes stay in the community. This year the donations will be given to Youth for Christ, Oskaloosa Chapter. Every day, YFC staff and volunteers meet with young people who need Jesus.

Our Host Church this year is Central Reformed Church, located at 815 2nd Ave East. This beautiful church welcomes you to join them for Christmas treats and Coffee as you share the start of the Christmas Season with them.

Wanda Gardner welcomes you to the Frederic Knight Logan house located at 416 B Ave East. This home was built in 1871 and was the home of composer/musician, Frederic Knight Logan.

The home features music rooms with vaulted ceilings. Gardner has decorated the home with antiques and a 1929 player Grand Piano. Royalties from Logan’s famed “Missouri Waltz” paid for an architectural facelift in 1914 to its present Arts and Crafts appearance.

The decorated Arts and Crafts house will welcome you to Christmas, both with decorations and music and history.

Kim and Marvin Bloem welcome you to their Mid Century Modern Time Capsule. The home is located at 131 Highland. This house was built in 1963 by Dr. Sidney Smith. The house features extensive use of floor to ceiling glass to bring the beauty of nature inside.

The house has never had any major updates. It still has the original appliances, light fixtures, bathroom tile and fixtures, and the original post and beam construction. There is extensive use of natural wood, both inside and out.

Come visit this beautiful home, see the natural beauty around it, and view the beautiful lights at night.

Nadine Rozenboom invites you to come and enjoy a cozy, homey Christmas in the Country. As you drive in, you will notice the lights shining. Enjoy both Nadine’s home and the restored Barn. Nadine’s farm was featured in “Our Iowa” Magazine, 2015 Holiday Edition as “one of the most beautiful Iowa farms”.

In the home, you will see over 50 Angels and Snowmen and over 30 Nativity scenes located throughout the home. You will also see over 30 Santas, plus many Willow Tree, Jim Shore, and Precious Moments collections. Enjoy Nadine’s 60 year collection of Christmas Decorations.

Browse through the “Woodlands in the Barn”. Enjoy all the lights, a forest of trees, and woodland animals (not real) that are in the Barn.
