OHS Honors Its Academic Award Winners
Oskaloosa, Iowa – Oskaloosa High School students and their families gathered at George Daily Auditorium on Thursday evening for the annual Academic Awards Ceremony.
“We’re here to celebrate and honor the hard work and dedication of students here tonight,” said Oskaloosa Schools Superintendent Russ Reiter. “Personally, I’ve had the pleasure and the honor to watch so many of you over the last four years.”
“The list can go on and on and on about the accomplishments of these young people,” said Reiter. “I congratulate you, I honor you.”
Oskaloosa High School Principal Stacy Bandy spoke next about the OHS Class of 2015.
Bandy spoke about a recent visit with the OHS Choir. “This is year 31, and each year has gotten better and better, and I sat down and I listened to these folks sing yesterday in the practice room, and I let them know just how fantastic they were.”
Bandy said that as the years “start stacking up”, the students just get “that much better”.
“The amount of accomplishments we have done this year is amazing. The things that these kids are doing now and are going to do,” said Bandy before he presented the next set of education awards to the students.
Graduation for the OHS Class of 2015 will be on Sunday, May 17, 2015 beginning at 2pm in the high school gym.
