Class 2A Wrestlers On To State!

The Albia Wrestling program finished 4th out of 12 teams in last Saturday’s District finals in Fairfield. The top 2 finishers in each weight class will move on to State competition this week at Wells Fargo arena. Meanwhile, Knoxville had its strongest showing in recent years, finishing 5th as a team. Albia will take 3 wrestlers to state while Knoxville added 2. Mediapolis continues its wrestling dominance with 9 pins at the district level taking 5 weight class championships and advancing 7 wrestlers to this week.
Albia’s Carter Isley remains the #1 ranked wrestler in the state in 220, amassing 44 wins and no losses on the season as a Junior.
