Four Nationally, Sixth Regionally in Third Poll

Oskaloosa–Four ranked wrestlers keep the Statesmen wrestling team in a high spot as the NAIA’s third top-20 poll was released Wednesday.
Scottie Bonds (So., Chicago, Ill., Physical Education) has not competed at his natural 133 pounds yet, but is undefeated at 141 pounds to be ranked second.
Three other Statesmen are also ranked at a weight that is higher than they will likely settle on later in the year. Kyle Soderblom (Sr., Newton, Iowa, Biology) is again eighth at 197 pounds, while Brad Watson (Jr., Rolla, Mo., Physical Education) is 13th at 149 and Ishmael Rempson (Sr., Olympia Fields, Ill., Industrial Technology) is 14th at 165 pounds.
With the four ranked grapplers, William Penn is up two positions to 16th with 29.5 points.
#1 Grand View has 177 points, while Southern Oregon is a solid second with 111.5 points. Montana State-Northern (82.5 points), Campbellsville (Ky.) (72 points), and Great Falls (Mont.) (70.5 points) remain off the pace to round out the top five.
William Penn is up one spot in the North Qualifying Group, currently ranking fourth with 89 points. Concordia (Neb.) is again first with 155 points.
Bonds is first at 141, while Watson and Soderblom are both second. Rempson is now fourth at 165, while Lane Colwell (Jr., Knoxville, Iowa, Computer Science) is sixth at 149. Khalil Williams (Fr., Decatur, Ala., Physical Education) is also sixth at 125 pounds.
