Mahaska County YMCA Dolphins Continue To Compete

The Mahaska County YMCA Dolphin swim team has traveled to a couple more meets before the Holiday Season to compete against some good competition. First trip was to Des Moines Riverfront YMCA as they took part in the last meet at this facility before it was shut down as they are moving to the new downtown YMCA that has recently been built and is open after the first of the year. The team competed well as they has another 62 personal best times during the meet giving the Dolphins over 70% making improvements on the day. They also earned 81 top 3 place finishes during the meet.

The following weekend the Dolphins traveled to Cedar Rapids and competed at the Stoney Point YMCA. Being close to the holidays they did not have their full squad but they still came away with 29 personal best times and 39 top 3 place finishes. The kids competed hard and will continue to practice during Christmas Break to come out ready to swim at their first meet of 2015. January 10th, at Walnut Creek YMCA in Des Moines is where when and where they will get their remaining season started before hosting 2 swim meets at the Mahaska County YMCA on January 17th and January 24th. Put these dates on the calendar to come out and support these swimmers as this is a really talented and motivated group of kids and coaches that are working hard to be the best that they can be.
