Oskaloosa–Maggie Yang (Jr., Chino, Calif., Business Management) became the first player in school history to post a score in red and that earned her another Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week award Monday.

A six-time career award recipient, Yang garnered her second laurel of the fall by shooting one-under-par 72 on the second day at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational. It is the second-straight tournament in which the junior carded a 72, but the first time in program history she or any player has broken par.

Yang added a 79 on the first day for a two-day tally of 151 that ties her own record. Her record-breaking showing guided the Statesmen to 18 (307) and 36-hole (630) school marks.

For the year, Yang owns a 76.6 scoring average in five rounds, including four in the 70s.

It is the second honor for WPU this year.
