Pereia Notches First Career POW Honor
Oskaloosa–Pedro Pereira (Fr., Sao Paolo, Brazil, Communications) had a tremendous first week as a collegiate goalkeeper and was rewarded for his efforts by being named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
The freshman helped William Penn (3-1) to a 3-0 week, including giving up just two goals with one shutout.
Pereira managed the shutout against Briar Cliff on Wednesday, stopping four shots in the win. He then added a combined seven saves in the team’s other two wins over the weekend.
He is currently 3-0 with a 0.67 Goals Against Average and 11 saves. The award is the first of the year for WPU.
