Soderblom Places 7th

Des Moines–Kyle Soderblom (So., Newton, Iowa, Biology) split a pair of matches Saturday to finish seventh in the nation at the NAIA Wrestling National Championships.
The sophomore197-pounder opened the day having already reached All-America status with a 3-1 record Friday. He unfortunately lost his first match by fall to Carl Johnson of Southern Oregon to drop to the seventh-place match.
Soderblom then culminated his sophomore campaign by rebounding against another Johnson–Eric Johnson of Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.)–with a 16-3 major decision to place seventh.
The 40th All-American in school history, he finished with a 26-14 record.
