Oskaloosa, Iowa – Positive community response provided enough donations to pay for the funeral expenses of both of Helen Edgington’s daughters, Kim and Kathie. Another gesture is being made by Mahaska Outreach Thrift Store, providing one more way for local residents to contribute to Helen Edgington’s loss of home and family.

This week, February 11-16, “Bag Week” is being held at the Thrift Store at 114 North First Street in Oskaloosa. Store shoppers are provided with a brown paper grocery bag, that may be filled with store merchandise for $7. On Friday, February 15, the proceeds from that “Bag Day” will help to settle Helen in her new residence at the Inglenook Apartment complex.

“Shoppers are encouraged to take this method of providing for themselves as well as Helen”, according to Thrift Store manager Alice Moore.

The Thrift Store is open from 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday, and 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturdays.
