Oskaloosa–Kelsey Johnson (So., Montgomery, Ill., Secondary Education) has come on strong to lead the Lady Statesmen rollers and she was recognized for those efforts as the all-Midwest Collegiate Conference women’s bowling team was announced Wednesday.

Johnson was one of five players named to the squad. Becca Czlapinski of St. Ambrose was given MCC Player and Newcomer of the Year laurels, while WPU Head Coach Mark Van Wyk earned MCC Coach of the Year honors from his peers for the first time on the women’s side.

Through 55 games, Johnson has posted a team-best 188.6 average, including a season-high game of 258. The sophomore has four top-25 finishes, including back-to-back top-five placings. She was a campaign-best third at last weekend’s MCC Championships. Through February 10, Johnson was ranked 71st in the nation according to collegebowling.com
