Six for Beasley
Oskaloosa–Brandon Beasley (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind., Physical Education) is making a pretty good case for being considered one of the best players in the NAIA as he was once again named Midwest Collegiate Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.
The senior notched his sixth award of the year as #2 William Penn (26-1, 10-0 MCC) defeated two more league foes, highlighted by a win over then-#7 Mount Mercy that is likely to propel the Statesmen to #1 later this afternoon.
Beasley averaged 20.0 points and 16.0 rebounds, including 28 points versus the Mustangs. He also tied a career high with 17 rebounds against AIB. The senior, who shot 53.6% from the floor, also averaged 4.5 steals, 4.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks last week. He now has ten double-doubles and has eclipsed the 20-point mark 12 times.
For the year, Beasley is averaging 19.2 points and 8.5 rebounds in addition to 92 assists, 67 steals, and 34 blocks. He is shooting 53.5% overall and owns a 69.1% clip from the charity stripe.
The forward leads the MCC in scoring and rebounding and is also in the top ten in seven other categories.
The award is the eight of the season for William Penn.
