February 1, 2013 – Oskaloosa, IA – Programming for school aged children will resume at the Oskaloosa Public Library as kids celebrate Valentine’s Day. A “Love Your Library” program will be held on Tuesday February 12th at 4:00 p.m. in the children’s programming room where children will have the opportunity to share stories and be creative.

“There has been a lull in programming for children at the library,” Anderson states. “My goal with this program is to get to know elementary school students in our community and regenerate interest in the library among that age group.”

During the program, Anderson hopes to share some of her favorite stories with participants, and children will have the chance to introduce and share a few fun facts about themselves. However, instead of creating Valentine’s Day cards, children will have the opportunity to decorate and fill a Library Love Capsule.

“Love Your Library” is a one-time program, but families can expect to see more programs at the same time every week in the future, including Arts and Crafts Club and Lego Club. Schedules will be available at the library starting Monday February 11th.

“The kids have given me a lot of great ideas for programs, and I think we’ll all have a lot of fun together.”
