Betty June Reynolds, 82, of Ollie, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at her home in Ollie. She was born March 7, 1930 in Fairfield, the daughter of Bret Hart and Treva Kit Stull Davis. She graduated from the Ollie High School with the class of 1947. On November 28, 1948, Betty was united in marriage to Gordon Reynolds at the Ollie Methodist Church in Ollie. Following marriage, they purchased a mobile home and traveled throughout Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska where Gordon found work as a crane operator. When they moved back to the Ollie area, Betty stayed home to raise their family and to help Gordon after they bought their farm. When her family was grown, Betty went to work as a certified nurse’s aid in Sigourney. Betty was a ball of energy and never knew a stranger. She was a member of the Ollie Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter #549 for over 50 years, the Ollie Methodist Church and later the Prairie View United Methodist Church, a member of the Grandmother’s Club, the I’ll be Seeing You Club, the Ollie Betterment Committee, and worked many years volunteering on the Ollie Big Days Committee. She is survived by her husband of over 64 years: Gordon Reynolds of Ollie; 2 daughters: Pam Reynolds of Ottumwa and Lisa (& Steve) Roberts of Richland; a son: Dennis (& Kelly) Reynolds of Maryville, Illinois; 3 grandchildren: Bart J. (Teresa) Reynolds, Barry Reynolds, and Tyler (& Stefanie) Roberts; 3 great grandchildren: Jesianne, Delrae, and Porter Reynolds; a sister: Karolyn (& Harold) Schrader of Ollie; a brother: Junior (& Carol) Davis of Fairfield; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers: Frances and Bill Davis; and 2 sisters: Fern Darby and Jean Reynolds. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Prairie View United Methodist Church with Reverend Dave Peterson and Rev. Sharon Bennell officiating. An Eastern Star service will be held at 10:30 A.M on Tuesday in the sanctuary of the Prairie View United Methodist Church. prior to the service. As was her wish her body has been cremated and burial will be at a later date.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. with Easter Star service at 10:30 a.m. prior to the memorial service. January 08, 2013 at Prairie View United Methodist Church
Interment: To be held at a later date.
