Postseason Time for Pella Knights!‏

Pella Knights

After a grueling regular season, the Pella Knights have wiped the slate clean and enter postseason play by traveling to the Mount Rushmore State Saturday to face the Sioux Falls Stallions in the first round of the Midwest Football Alliance playoffs.

The Knights own a 5-5 overall mark, but their 2-4 record in the East division gave them the sixth overall seed. The Stallions (7-3, 3-3 in the West) earned the third seed. The teams have just one common opponent, the Capital City Crush, whom Pella was 0-1 against (lost 25-6) and Sioux Falls was 0-2 (lost 21-16 and 42-38).

The Knights have been led by quarterback Jarred Lackey (Somerton, Ariz.), who is 43-of-81 passing for 582 yards and ten touchdowns. He has also paced the rushing attack with 343 yards and four scores. DeMarco Sanders (Horn Lake, Miss.) is highlighting the receiving corps with 19 catches for 317 yards and three TDs.

The game begins at 7 p.m. and will be played at McEneaney Field. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for ages 13-17, and free for ages 12 and under.
