The Oskaloosa YMCA Aerials JO (Junior Olympic) Compulsory Team had their first meet on Sunday October 9th at the Twist’n to the Top Invitational in Hiawatha, IA. The team practices 9 hours per week, year round, and has worked hard learning and practicing routines since July.
YMCA Gymnastics Director and head coach, Meghan Slay said, “the girls looked really good for their first meet. Tasha (Johannes, coach) and I are proud of them. The first meet is always a wake up call for the gymnasts and coaches. Now we can really start picking apart and perfecting the routines.”
