Bellinger Takes Gold at Iowa Games Bowling Competition
Ames, Iowa – Terryk Bellinger of Oskaloosa placed first in the Division 120 – boys ages 8 eight under – bowling competition at the 25th Annual Summer Iowa Games held in Ames on Saturday, July 16, 2011. Bellinger bowled a 792 series, with games of 102-80-103.
A second grader at North Mahaska Elementary, Bellinger says, “I like to bowl because it’s fun.”
To qualify for the state-level competition, participants had to place first through third at their district level competitions. Bellinger took a gold medal at the district-level competitions which were held June 4-5 and June 11-12.
The 2010-2011 season was Bellinger’s first year of bowling. During the season, he also qualified for the district-level Pepsi tournament, where he finished with a 729 series.
