Montezuma. Dema Hall, 80 of Montezuma passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Montezuma Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Montezuma. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Saturday, March 26, 2011 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home with Pastor George Salnave officiating. Interment will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Friday, March 25, 2011 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Montezuma Ministerial Association.
Dema Mae Hall, daughter of Hefmon and Lydia (Schrader) Davis was born on October 11, 1930 in Hartwick, Iowa. She graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1948. On January 14, 1951, Dema was united in marriage to Bob Hall at the United Methodist Church in Montezuma. Together they had two sons, Craig and Chris. Dema worked at Rabenold’s and Western Auto in Montezuma before she went to work at Brownell’s, Inc. She worked at Brownell’s for 29 years before retiring in 1994. After her retirement, Dema looked forward to having coffee time with the Brownell retirees every month, visits with her grandchildren and spending more time with her husband, Bob. She enjoyed her Saturday nights at Casa Margaritas, making layered wooden animals with her grandchildren, flowers, gardening and rhubarb. She was a people person and loved a good conversation. Dema also enjoyed puppies, kittens, chickens and any kind of farm animal. She was a former member of the KYN Club and participated in a bowling league.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Bob Hall of Montezuma; two sons, Craig (Marge) Hall of Montezuma and Chris (Linda) Hall of Centennial, Colorado; four grandchildren, Benjamin Hall, Matthew Hall, Patrick Hall and Clark Hall and three sisters, Virginia Johnston of Montezuma, Ladona Anderson of Montezuma and Phyllis Osborn of Montezuma.
Dema was preceded in death by her parents, Hefmon and Lydia Davis and a sister, LaVonne McCaulley.
