Visitation: Open after 2:00 p.m. with family present between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. There will be an Eastern Star service at 6:30 p.m. March 18, 1911 at Fremont Funeral Chapel

Interment: Pennington Cemetery near Sigourney, Iowa

Clarys was born September 22, 1907 in Keokuk County, Iowa. She graduated from Sigourney High School in 1925, and attended normal training at Iowa State Teachers College. She taught in country schools in the Sigourney area for two years. She married Dale Appleget on May 7, 1927 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Following marriage, Clarys was a homemaker, raised her family, and helped her husband on the farm. She enjoyed embroidery, and focused upon her church, participating in 44 mission trips in the Appalachians with Red Bird Missions. She was a very passionate member of Eastern Star and the United Methodist Women. Clarys worked with the Keokuk County Hospice for several years. She also enjoyed gardening. Clarys is survived by two sons: John (Mary) Appleget of Williamsburg, Iowa; and Jim Appleget of MItchellville, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Lois (Paul) Appleget of Waukee, Iowa; seven grandchidlren ; nine great-grandchildren; 17 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, in 1981; a son, Paul Appleget; a granddaughter, Mary Charline Appleget; a daughtaer-in-law, Lois (Jim) Appleget; her parents; a sister, LaRue Jacobs; and two brothers, Jim and Richard Moore.

Memorials may be made in her name to the Hedrick-Martinsburg United Methodist Church.
