Sara Dooley
Oskaloosa. Sara Dooley, 28, of Oskaloosa died Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was born on May 2, 1982, at Peoria, Illinois, the daughter of Timothy and Judith Diane Kay McMullen. She attended school at Davenport and Eddyville. On February 2, 2002, she was united in marriage to Nathaniel Dooley at Orion, Illinois. She was a homemaker. She was a very loving wife and mother. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and playing the computer. She truly enjoyed being with her family, she was always up for a family adventure. She also loved her pets.
Her family includes her husband Nathaniel Dooley of Oskaloosa; her son: Brandon Dooley at home; her father: Timothy (& Donna Miller) McMullen of Oskaloosa; her grandmother: Donna McMullen of Illinois; two sisters: Erin McMullen of Pella and Katy (& Adrian) Belzer of Oskaloosa; parents in law: Ed and Roberta Dooley of Oskaloosa; a brother in law: Scott (& Shirley) Akers of Oskaloosa; a sisters in law: Jennifer White of State Center, Iowa; she is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and great nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Judith Kay; two sons: Robert and Nickolas Dooley; a brother in law: Randy Dooley; paternal grandfather: Robert McMullen; and her maternal grandparents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011, at 1 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiating. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery east of Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Saturday morning after 11:30, in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be present from 11:30 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to the Sara Dooley Memorial Fund.
