Invasive Species Presentation

Invasive plant species are plants that are not native to an ecosystem and potentially cause economic or environmental damage to the area. Many plants have been introduced without much impact, but a few species, such as garlic mustard, buckthorn, multiflora rose, and bush honeysuckle, have become very problematic.   Mahaska County Master Gardeners will host an opportunity to learn about the invasive species affecting Mahaska County by Ben Hoskinson, the Mahaska County Integrated Vegetation Roadside Manager (IRVM) on Tuesday, March 8 at 7 pm.

The presentation will be at the Mahaska County Extension Office Auditorium.  There is no cost to attend this program, and it is open to the public.  For more information about this or other horticulture programs, calling the MCEO at 641-673-5841 or emailing Suzette Striegel, Mahaska County Extension Horticulturist at striegel@iastate.edu.
