David was born on May 3, 1958 in Grinnell, Iowa to William and Judith Brown Noel. He was raised in Grinnell and Davenport respectively, and he graduated from Davenport West High School with the class of 1977. He then attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa.
He met Rachel Schwertfeger in 1991 and they resided together in Belle Plaine, Iowa. The couple was married on September 8, 2006 in Davenport, Iowa. David was employed at Natural Products and Chief Alfa in Grinnell for several years. He also worked at Maytag in Newton and at Jeld-Wen in Grinnell.
David dearly loved his family and he held a special love for the grandchildren. He was an avid Hawkeye fan and also rooted for the Nebraska Cornhuskers. He was often thought of as being fun-loving and he was known for his sense of humor. His enjoyments were watching NASCAR races and the Family Guy on TV, barbequing on the grill, and the companionship of his dog, Maizi.
David is survived by his wife, Rachel Noel of Belle Plaine; his parents, William Noel of Unionville, Missouri and Judy Noel of Davenport, Iowa; his step daughters, Sheri (Charlie) Shephard of Stover, Missouri and Lisa (Bryan) Fick of Belle Plaine; five grandchildren; his siblings, Brad Noel of Eldridge, Iowa, Mindy (Ken) Clark of Davenport, Iowa, and Susan (James) Yarolem of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.
