Oskaloosa girls golf wraps up regular season at home invitational
OSKALOOSA — The Oskaloosa girls golf team closed out the regular season Thursday by hosting the Oskaloosa JV/V Invitational at Oskaloosa Golf.
The Indians had 17 golfers compete during the event and finished fourth out of five varsity teams with a score of 424.
Coaches said the higher team score mostly came down to the greens. The fast putting surfaces gave Oskaloosa trouble throughout the day as the team struggled to adjust its speed on putts.
Leah Cohrt led the Indians once again with a round of 95, finishing eighth overall individually.
Hayden McCain added a 113 for Oskaloosa, while Kamryn Maddy shot a 110. Rylee Klyn carded a 115, Sabrina Frost finished with a 120, and Ireland McGraw added a 121.
Ottumwa won the team title with a 372, followed by Pella at 383 and Indianola with a 396.
The meet marked the final regular season event for the Indians as the focus now shifts toward postseason play.
