Runs Hard To Come By In Oskaloosa Varsity Indians Win Versus Indianola Varsity

Both teams were strong on the hill on Friday, but Oskaloosa Varsity Indians defeated Indianola Varsity 3-2. Linus Morrison started the game for the Oskaloosa Varsity Indians and recorded 21 outs.
Oskaloosa Varsity Indians got on the board in the fourth inning after an error scored one run.
Benge of Indianola then homered to left field, which helped Indianola Varsity tie the game at one in the bottom of the fifth.
A single by Caden Johnson gave Oskaloosa Varsity Indians the lead, 3-1, in the top of the sixth.
Morrison earned the win for the Oskaloosa Varsity Indians. The pitcher gave up five hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking one. Brueck took the loss for Indianola. The starting pitcher went seven innings, surrendering three runs (two earned) on seven hits, striking out nine and walking none.
Johnson and Trey Parks were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for the Oskaloosa Varsity Indians while hitting back-to-back. Johnson provided pop in the middle of the lineup and led the Oskaloosa Varsity Indians with three runs batted in. The first baseman went 2-for-3 on the day. Oskaloosa Varsity Indians didn’t commit a single error in the field.
