NM Golfers Third at Golf Triangular

SIGOURNEY – North Mahaska took to the links at Sigourney Golf Course Thursday amid cool and damp temperatures. The Wark boys and girls finished third to Sigourney and BGM. Sigourney won the boys meet with a 155 while BGM scored 174 and North Mahaska 182. BGM girls won with a 195 followed by Sigourney 206 and NM 210.

For the boys, Sigourney’s Josh Wyatt and Ike Molyneaux took medalist and runnerup honors with a 37 and 38 respectively.

Lucas Nunnikhoven led North Mahaska with a 42 on the par-35 course. Jack Kelderman shot a 45, Cooper Sampson had a 46 and Travis Casteneda finished with a 49. Jeremiah Ashman carded a 50 and Hunter Wernli shot a 52.

Rounding out the Sigourney scoring was Cain Weber and Dayne Chittick each shot a 40.

Robby Tometich led BGM with a 40 followed by Beckett Rhoads 42, and Beau Burns and Camren Cooling with 46s.

North Mahaska’s Aly Steil and Elise Westercamp tied for runnerup honors with a 47. Aurelia Roudabush of BGM edged the Warhawk duo by one stroke, finishing with a 46. Jocelyn Pinkerton scored a 55 and Lacey Campbell had a 61 to complete the scoring. Addison Vander Beek shot a 63 and Breckyn Schilling had a 66.

BGM’s Shaye Strong fired a 49 behind Roudabush with Averee Krebill and Ana Coleman each shot a 50. Ella Burns led Sigourney with a 49 along with Kayla Renner, who shot a 50. Hannah Hanselman added a 52 and Adelynne Tremmel shot a 55.

North Mahaska’s boys will compete in the South Iowa Cedar League tourney on Monday beginning at 9 a.m. at Oskaloosa Golf. The girls host Baxter, English Valleys, HLV and Pella in an 18-hole event at Prairie Knolls in New Sharon on Thursday.
