EBF Girls Track Team Posts Strong Results at Home Meet

Eddyville, Iowa – April 22, 2025

The Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont (EBF) Girls Track and Field team delivered another strong performance on their home track Tuesday night, securing second place overall at the two-class meet with a team score of 144 points. Des Moines Christian took the team title with 178 points, while North Mahaska rounded out the top three with 104 points.

The Rockets were led by several standout performances across multiple events. The Sprint Medley Relay team — composed of Hollie Roberts, Molly Shafer, Lacey Taylor, and Kate Shafer — earned a second-place finish with a season-best time of 1:54.14.

Claire Hayward turned in a strong performance in the 3000 meters, clocking 12:25.93 to finish fourth. In the 4×800 relay, Kaitlynn Glenn, Lillie Lee, Novalee Jackson, and Kenzie Lions combined to claim third place with a time of 12:06.73.

The Shuttle Hurdle Relay team of Lanie Batterson, Addy Covert, Adison Glosser, and Chloe Lyon also brought home a third-place finish with a time of 1:20.85.

In the 100-meter dash, Hollie Roberts placed fifth with a time of 14.07 seconds, with teammates Sadie Jager, Georgia Smith, and Izzy Armstrong close behind to add valuable points for the team.

Throughout the meet, EBF athletes continued to show improvement, setting several season-best marks and new personal records. Strong depth across the sprint, distance, and hurdle events helped the Rockets remain competitive in a highly contested field.
