Oskaloosa Boys Track Posts Strong Performances at Mid-Prairie Invitational
Wellman, Iowa – April 22, 2025 – The Oskaloosa High School boys track and field team battled through humid conditions and minor illnesses to post an impressive showing at the Mid-Prairie Hawks Invitational on Tuesday evening. The Indians finished fifth in the team standings with 54 points, behind host Mid-Prairie, Grinnell, Wilton, and West Liberty.
Senior Reid Luck and junior Blake Herny led the way with silver medal finishes in their individual events. Luck clocked a season-best 55.31 seconds in the 400 meters and anchored the 4×400 relay team — along with Dre Bullock, Tre Bullock, and Herny — to a second-place finish with a time of 3:40.36, another season-best effort. Herny also secured second place in the 800 meters, finishing in 2:09.69, and anchored the 4×400 relay to its strong showing.
Across the board, the Oskaloosa squad collected 17 new personal records and seven season-best marks on the night. Other notable performances included:
A third-place finish in the 4×100 relay by Aiden Todey, Carter Jordan, Jalin Woodard, and Parker Jordan, posting a time of 47.72.
Fourth-place finishes in both the 3200 meters (Reid Luck, 10:50.92) and the Distance Medley Relay (Parker Jordan, Jalin Woodard, Dre Bullock, and Blake Herny, 3:51.50).
Fifth-place efforts from Jalin Woodard in the long jump (18’10”), Tre Bullock in the 400 meters (57.31), Carter Jordan in the 110 hurdles (18.00, season best), and Aidan Cox in the 400 hurdles (65.00, season best).
In addition, the Sprint Medley team of Carter Jordan, Aiden Todey, Parker Jordan, and Tre Bullock placed fourth with a time of 1:46.40, and the 4×200 relay team claimed sixth.
The Indians’ continued focus on growth and improvement has been evident, as evidenced by the numerous personal bests celebrated throughout the night.
Both the boys and girls teams are scheduled to return to action Thursday at Newton.
