PELLA — Central College will host a Pakistani international dinner Tuesday, Feb. 1. The meal is served in Graham Conference Center starting at 6 p.m. Cost is $15 per person, $5 for children 6-10. Children 5 and under are free. To make a reservation, call 641-628-5334 or e-mail reimert@central.edu by Friday, Jan. 28.

Anya Butt, associate professor of biology, will host the dinner. Her menu selection includes meat and vegetable samosas, keema matter (meat with peas), alu ghobi (potatoes and cauliflower), raita (yogurt and cucumber), dhal (lentils) and kheer (rice pudding).

The Pella Reads Three Cups of Tea project has pledged to donate $1 to Pennies for Peace for each person in attendance. The Pennies for Peace program educates students about the world beyond their experience and shows that they can make a positive global impact one penny at a time. The Pella Reads project is sponsored by the Pella Public Library, the Pella Welcoming Community Team and Central College’s cultural affairs office.

Following dinner, the Pella Opera House will sponsor a short concert of sitar music.
