MONAGHAN RESIGNS, ACCEPTS POSITION WITH THE NJCAA
Ottumwa, IA – Dr. Brett Monaghan, Indian Hills Community College Vice President for Student Development & Operations and Athletic Director, has announced his resignation. Monaghan has accepted a position as the Vice President of Championships and Sports Governance for the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Office.
As the NJCAA Vice President of Championships and Sports Governance, Monaghan will oversee the recruitment and selection of host sites, execution, and management of all NJCAA national championships while working with regional and district championships as needed.
“It has been an incredible privilege to work at Indian Hills Community College for the past 12 years,” stated Monaghan. “I can’t thank Marlene Sprouse and Matt Thompson enough for the opportunities they provided me at IHCC to grow as a higher education professional. There are not a lot of career moves that would take me away from such a special place as Indian Hills, but I feel this position with the NJCAA truly speaks to who I am as a professional and what I am passionate about. The two-year college athletic world was the launching pad for me as a student and young professional, so to be able to give back to our 500 plus member institutions and our over 70,000 student-athletes is not something I felt I could pass up.”
