Judith Brannan, 80, of Oskaloosa, died Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Homestead of Oskaloosa. She was born November 2, 1942, in Denver, Colorado, the daughter of Clyde and Frances Perry Warner.

Judith graduated from Corcoran High School in Corcoran, California, with the class of 1960. Following graduation she continued her education at University of California Santa Barbara.

On June 16, 1961, Judith was united in marriage to Maurice Brannan in Corcoran, California. Judith was a dedicated wife and mother. Together the family lived several places including: Minneapolis, Kansas City, and Enid Oklahoma. They settled in Oskaloosa in 2014.

Judith was a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts of American where she volunteered countless hours and a leader and handling administrative duties. She was also a member of Eastern Star. She was an avid reader and quilter and enjoyed doing stained glass projects.

Her family includes her husband of over 62 years, Maurice Brannan of Oskaloosa; three children and their spouses: Mary (& Alan) Hovid of Lindstrom, Minnesota, Jeff (& Lori) Brannan of Oskaloosa, and Sara (& Chris) Aynes of Lewisville, Texas; three grandchildren: Nicole, Amanda, and Tanner; four great grandchildren: Gwyneth, Veronica, Colbie, and Colton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Taylor Anne Aynes; and a brother, Perry Warner.

As was Judith’s wish her body has been cremated. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the North Page Cemetery at Villisca, Iowa. Memorials may be made to Girl Scouts of America.
