Madison (Bud) Dean Fisher, 93, of Oskaloosa, IA, departed this life on March 20, 2023. Bud was the son of Clarence Lee Fisher and Ruth Mae (Conger) and was born September 12, 1929, in Des Moines, IA.
Bud grew up in Des Moines and Albia, IA. He and Alice began dating in 1947 and married on June 3rd, 1951, after he returned home from serving in the Marines.
Bud and Alice made their home in Oskaloosa where they raised their family and owned and operated Fisher TV Antenna Service. In 1977 Bud and Alice moved to Reeds Spring and purchased Lone Pine Resort. Through the years of running the resort, they had many returning guests and made many lifelong friends. Bud and Alice spent many winters at South Padre fishing. After retiring from the resort and building their home, Bud spent most of his free time fishing Table Rock and doing backhoe work.
Bud and Alice traveled many places, but Alaska and England were two of his favorites. Bud also had many stories from their annual Arkansas trip with family and friends. Anyone who talked to him knew how much he enjoyed these trips. He had many fishing and travel stories and loved to share them.
Survivors include: his wife, of almost 72 years, Alice Fisher; son and daughter in-law, Gary and Barb Fisher; grandchildren: Mindy (& Shane) Zickefoose, Amanda (& Corey) Becker, James Fisher, Will Fisher, Sonya Fisher, and Marin Fisher; great grandchildren: Peyton, Addie, Levi, Tehvah, Richard, and Marle; sister in law, Colleen Seaman; and a host of other family and friends.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Linda Dianne Fisher; his son, Mark Lee Fisher; his great grandson, Tyler Zickefoose; sister in laws, Edith Morris and Louriee Seaman; and brother in laws, Delbert Seaman and Gene Morris.
Visitation for Bud will be Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at Stumpff Funeral Chapel Kimberling City, MO.
The service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Robert Pierce officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa, IA, March 29, 2023, at 10:00 am. Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the burial arrangements.
Donations may be made in Bud’s name to the Masonic Lodge 644 in Oskaloosa, IA.
Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home Kimberling City, MO.
