Statesmen Slip into Receiving Votes Area
Oskaloosa–The William Penn women’s golf team lost a few positions as the NAIA’s first top-25 poll of the year was released last Friday.
WPU fell three rungs from the preseason ranking, down to #28 with 41 points. WPU is the lone representative from the Heart of America Athletic Conference in the rating.
British Columbia is unanimous at #1 with 467 points and 17 first-place votes. Oklahoma City, Dalton State (Ga.), Keiser (Fla.), and Indiana Wesleyan round out the top five.
WPU travels to Silvis, Ill. next Monday and Tuesday to host the TPC Deere Run Invitational at TPC Deere Run Golf Course. The course is the site of next spring’s NAIA National Championship.
