Crookham- Johnson Law Office Open House

Diane Crookham-Johnson (center) opened her new office with an official ribbon cutting with local Diplomats in attendance.

Diane Crookham-Johnson welcomed the community to her new General Practice  law office Wednesday afternoon. The office, open since Fall, had it’s official ribbon cutting ceremony with representatives from Oskaloosa Diplomats and from throughout the community on hand to officially welcome Johnson.

“I was at MUSCO for the last 25 years, graduated from Drake Law School in May, and am so glad to be back here full time in Oskaloosa.” said Johnson on her recent career change.

“Was excited about being on the square, my goal was to be in a location that was half way between the Courthouse and Smokey Row, (laughter from those in attendance) and I’m about as close to half way as I can be without being in the Bandstand, so that was a success” Diane said on the choice for her location in downtown Oskaloosa. The office occupies the former home of Steve Tucker’s accounting office.

“I have a team of very experienced people” speaking of her staff that helps to keep the office running.

“We thought we’d do just a little bit of remodeling before we moved in, and a little bit of remodeling turned into you might remember a space that a semi could drive through. A lot of people thought we were putting in the drive-thru for the restaurants on either side of us” Diane said of the remodeling the location with much laughter from those on hand.

One of the reasons for the afternoon’s opening beyond the normal was to help inform the public of their independence from MUSCO. “MUSCO does great things a block down, but we’re here as a law office to serve the community” Johnson stated.

You can reach their office by calling 641.676.4225 or stopping by their location at 108 1st Ave E in downtown Oskaloosa.
