SCRAA Continues Land Acquisition Talks

PELLA- The South Central Regional Airport agency met in regular session on December 30th, 2019.

During the public comment portion of the meeting, John Bandstra rose to speak regarding the way the meeting was posted. Bandstra expressed concerns with whether or not the airport agency had complied with the open meetings requirements with regards to the posting of the agenda, suggesting that the meeting was illegal.

Bandstra is set to join the SCRAA at the next meeting of the airport agency, after having been appointed the representative for Mahaska County by the board of supervisors.

The board next approved the minutes of the Dec. 19 meeting on a unanimous vote.

After approval of the minutes, the board went into closed session to discuss the purchase of real estate. After a roughly 30 minute closed session, the board reconvened in open session and announced there would be no action taken on the closed session action.

No date was set for the next SCRAA meeting before the board adjourned.
