57th Annual Fall Festival Successfully Brings Generations Together
Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Nelson Pioneer Farm and Mahaska County Historical Society held their 57th Annual Fall Festival on Saturday.
A little rain may have chased a few people away near the end of the day, but it wasn’t before there was music, demonstrations, and field work featuring antique equipment.
Margaret Spiegel is the Director and Curator of Nelson Pioneer Farm, and this was her last Fall Festival as she will be leaving that position on April 30th, 2024.
She said Saturday’s Fall Festival was the best in her tenure. “The weather was absolutely gorgeous, and we had over 400 visitors. Many of the new activities around the site attracted interest, and there was active participation in our regular traditions.”
“The sprinkling of rain mid-afternoon had some people leaving, but many still stayed to enjoy the activities across the site,” added Spiegel.
“It was a wonderful last Fall Festival for me,” Spiegel said. “Many thanks to the amazing volunteers who made today possible and the outstanding community support of our site and our event.”
