Gulf Shores, Ala.–Rosemary Bailey (Sr., Fayetteville, Ark., Communications) managed a record-breaking performance in the sport’s longest race on the final day of the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships Saturday.

Bailey placed 23rd out of 44 runners in the 26.2-mile competition, crossing the line in a time of 3:30.44.80 (three hours, 30 minutes, 44.8 seconds). The senior crushed the old program record of 3:46:04.83 by over 15 minutes.

William Penn’s lone female competitor followed a full day of action by her male teammates on Friday. Cornelius McCastle (Fr., McKinney, Texas, Industrial Technology) tied for 14th in the high jump at 6-7, while Sam Taylor (Jr., Eddyville, Iowa, Industrial Technology) was 15th in the 110-meter hurdle preliminaries with a time of 14.99 seconds. Derek Seddon (Fr., Knoxville, Iowa, Physical Education) unfortunately did not post a mark in the discus.
