Ricky D. Koch, 66, of Deep River passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at his Deep River home. Ricky Dean Koch was born on January 1, 1952 at Oskaloosa, Iowa, the son of James Harold Koch and Donna Bradley Koch.

Rick grew up in What Cheer and attended school at Tri-County.

He was united in marriage to Kim Cranston on September 26, 1981 in What Cheer. They later moved to Deep River and to this union three children were born, Derec, Kandi, and Jeri.

Rick worked at FS in Millersburg and later in construction for Sheets Excavating.

Rick was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Family was very important to him and he loved spending time with his grandkids. He had fun playing nerf guns with his grandson Braden.

He is survived by his children: Derec (& Rachael) Koch of Deep River, Kandi (& Mike) McDonald of Deep River, and Jeri Koch of Deep River; his grandchildren: Braden McDonald, Blake McDonald, and Jocelyn Nigg; his brother, Harold Koch Jr.; his sisters: Pat (& Gary) Hadsell, Sandy (& Roger) Clark and Vicky Hartwig; his sister-in-law, Barb Koch; as well as many other relatives and friends.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Kenneth Koch; a brother in infancy; and his brother-in-law, Dennis Hartwig.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 10:30 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 beginning at 1:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
Burial will be held in the Golden Rod Cemetery at Deep River.
Memorials may be designated to the family.
