Mahaska Health Partnership Receives Donation from Junior Girl Scout Troop

MAHASKA COUNTY – Junior Girl Scout Troop 979 members made special baskets with personal care items for mothers who deliver the first baby of the month at Mahaska Health Partnership.
“This is the fifth year the troop has donated to Mahaska Health Partnership’s Birthing Center for their Community Services Project,” said Troop 979’s Parent Helper Becky Sidebottom. “We have really appreciated the support and help MHP has given to all the Girl Scouts over the years.”
In July of 2012, Amerisi Winegar’s mother received one of the gift baskets donated by Troop 979. Amerisi is now a member of the troop and said her family was very appreciative of the gift the troop had donated.
“The girls absolutely love babies, so donating to the MHP Birthing Center has always been a favorite,” Sidebottom said. “Recently, the troop learned and practiced how to handle first aid and CPR situations with infants and young children.”
