League Medalist Coertze Garners Fifth Accolade

Oskaloosa–Demi Coertze (Jr., Johannesburg, South Africa, Digital Communication) defended her league medalist crown to get another Midwest Collegiate Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week award Monday.

Coertze picked up her fifth weekly award of the year (seventh of her career) by topping the 35-player field at the MCC Championships. Her scores helped WPU to the team win and a trip to the NAIA National Championships.

The junior carded a two-day tally of 153 (77-76) for her third title of the campaign. She ended the regular season with 10 top-10 efforts.

For the year, Coertze owns a 78.5 stroke average (low of 73) and has posted 13 of her 21 rounds in the 70s.

It is the ninth award for WPU this year.
