GRINNELL COLLEGE ANNOUNCES 2015HONOR G AWARDS FOR MALE ATHLETES

GRINNELL, Iowa – Six male senior student-athletes were honored at the 2015 Grinnell College Honor G Banquet Saturday afternoon at Herrick Chapel.

Evan Griffith ’15 received the David Theophilus ’51 Award for outstanding athlete in more than one sport representing an individual sport, while Isaiah Tyree ’15 won the award for team sport. Griffith ran cross country and track and field, while Tyree competed in soccer and track and field.

Ben Weideman ’15 and Jack Taylor ’15 were winners of the Morgan Taylor ’26 Award for outstanding athlete in a single sport. Weideman, a swimmer, won it for an individual sport and Taylor, who plays basketball, was honored for a team sport.

Weideman also won the Honor G Scholastic Award, while Zack Angel ’15 claimed the George B. Critchett ’25 Service Award. Angel was a member of the Pioneer cross country and track teams.

Football player David Ternes ’15 claimed the Coaches Award.
