Iowa’s Brett Moffitt takes the $50,000 payout in the Triple Truck Challenge
NEWTON, Iowa (June 16, 2019) – Circuit City returned to NASCAR after a nearly 20-year absence in a big way. The online consumer electronics retailer served as entitlement sponsor for Sunday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series CircuitCity.com 250 presented by Tamron at Iowa Speedway.
Christopher Bell and Joe Gibbs Racing also returned to Iowa Speedway in spectacular fashion. Bell and his JGR team visited Casey’s General Store Victory Lane following the NASCAR Xfinity Series U.S. Cellular 250 last July. On Sunday, Bell swept all three stages of the race and led a total of 186 laps on his way to becoming a two-time winner at Iowa Speedway.
“Man, I got to win at Dover (the week before) Mother’s Day weekend…with my mom there. Now I just won on Father’s Day weekend with my dad here,” said Bell after his fourth win this season. “It was pretty special.”
Bell joins Brad Keselowski, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Sam Hornish Jr. as drivers with multiple wins at Iowa Speedway. Bell’s victory broke a string a streak of nine different winners in the last nine NASCAR Xfinity Series races.
“I’m ready for my second gas pump,” Bell said of the trophy given to winners here. “Bring it over.”
The different winner streak at Iowa started back in August of 2014 with Brad Keselowski’s win, then it was Chris Buescher (May 2015), Ryan Blaney (August 2015), Sam Hornish Jr. (June 2016), Erik Jones (July 2016), William Byron (June 2017), Ryan Preece (July 2017), Justin Allgaier (June 2018) and Christopher Bell (July 2018).
Keselowski and Stenhouse are tied for the series-most wins at Iowa with three each.
Kyle Busch, Chris Buescher, Ryan Blaney, Erik Jones, William Byron and Ryan Preece are other past Iowa winners currently active in the Monster Energy Cup Series … Stars Are Made Here.
