GRINNELL COLLEGE ANNOUNCES 2015 HONOR G AWARDS FOR FEMALE ATHLETES

GRINNELL, Iowa – Eight female senior student-athletes were honored at the 2015 Grinnell College Honor G Banquet Saturday afternoon at Herrick Chapel.

Shirlene Luk ’15 won the Grace McIlrath Parker ’11 Award for outstanding athlete in a single sport representing an individual sport, while Claire Weidman ’15 collected the honor for team sport. Luk was a member of the Pioneer tennis team and Weidman played volleyball.

Eloise Miller ’15 and Alex Plemmons ’15 claimed the Joyce Buck ’56 Award for top athlete in more than one sport. Miller, who competed in indoor and outdoor track and field, won the award for individual sports and Plemmons for team sports. Plemmons was on Grinnell’s golf and basketball teams.

Sarah Jensen ’15 won the Honor G Scholastic Award, while Alison Bayly ’15 and Diana Seer ’15 claimed the Honor G Service Award. Jensen was on the Pioneer soccer team and ran track, while Bayly and Seer competed in cross country and track.

Alysia Horcher ’15, who served as football manager and was also on the swimming and diving team, won the Coaches Award.
