William Penn University’s Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees to Give Commencement Address

Oskaloosa, IA— William Penn University’s 2015 Commencement Ceremony will be held Saturday, May 9 at 10:00 am in the Penn Activity Center (PAC). Doors will open at 8:00 am.

This year’s commencement speaker will be Joe Crookham, president and principal owner of Musco Lighting. Since 1996, Mr. Crookham has served on the William Penn University Board of Trustees. He is past board chairman and currently serves as Vice Chair of the Board. He also teaches a political science class on the Oskaloosa campus.

Crookham is active in the local community, and over the years, he has worked to ensure the community’s sustainability. He has been instrumental in many projects; particularly those that help create educational and recreational opportunities for area residents. He has also played an active part in economic development, supporting infrastructure development, downtown redevelopment, and historic renovation. He established the Mahaska Communication Group (MCG) to meet the communication needs of the Musco team and the surrounding community. Mr. Crookham’s other volunteer efforts have included serving as a trustee on the National Parks Foundation, as well as the International Little League Baseball Foundation Board. He holds an undergraduate degree and M.B.A. degree from the University of Iowa, and a Juris Doctorate from Drake University. William Penn University is honored to welcome Joe Crookham as this year’s commencement speaker.
