GRINNELL, Iowa – Grinnell College’s Kayla Morrissey ’18 has been named to the All-Midwest Conference Softball Team.

Morrissey, a third baseman/catcher from Burr Ridge, Ill. (Lyons Township North), earned a spot on the second team at an at-large position.

Morrissey led Grinnell and ranked seventh in the league in batting average at .435, and was also tops on the team in hits with a school-record 50. That mark ranked fifth in the league.

Additionally, Morrissey was Grinnell’s leader in RBIs with 26, homers with four and triples with two. She had two homers in one game to tie a program record.

The MWC Pitcher of the Year is Jessi Werner of Lake Forest College and Player of the Year is Amanda Jaskolski of Lawrence University.
