“What a beautiful day for football!” stated fan and mom Gena Plate as she entered the stadium Sunday afternoon for the YMCA’s youth football Indian Bowl games. Third and fourth grade competed against each other and fifth grade was up against 6th grade in this year’s Osky vs Osky end-of-the-season games. Whitey Miller, grandfather of Tyler Miller who scored three touchdowns, leading his team in a win 24-16, was a proud grandpa and stated that he will enjoy watching as these same kids go on to Jr High and High School to play football. The youth experienced the full field play at the stadium, and Ryan Harkema thanked MCRF for the great facilities, stating “It first starts here.” Harkema added that these kids will come together very soon to continue play at the next level at the stadium. Coaches also gave end-of-the-season speeches noting, “This is what it’s all about. This, the stadium, this is the real deal and you guys will be here soon.” YMCA youth football is played in the fall each year.
