Oskaloosa, Iowa – The Salvation Army just concluded their 2012 bell ringing season and want to thank everyone who helped almost reach our goal.

Your generous contributions in the kettles this year exceeded $39,131.49 dollars. Our goal was $40,000.00. We will be able to help many more families and individuals this year.

We want to thank each one of you who put something in the kettle or mailed in a check. We also want to thank the over 386 people who volunteered and rang the bells from churches, Oskaloosa High School Student Council, civic groups, and individuals and families. We also want to thank the over 30 businesses that donated space and time to help with the campaign.

Our youngest ringer was only three years old and a joy. The eldest ringer was 95 years old and

was the first bell-ringer of the season and also rang on the last day we rang this year.

The bellringers want to thank those who brought them hot chocolate and coffee on the very cold days. They appreciated being involved in “Doing the Most Good” campaign in the Mahaska county area. The Salvation Army may be contacted at 641-295-0942 or 641-660-0173 to make donations or for an application to apply for assistance. The Salvation Army also has a face book page at “Mahaska County Salvation Army” you may visit. You may also correspond by mail at: P.O. Box 487, Oskaloosa, IA 52577. Thank you from the Salvation Army Bellringing Committee.
