Ice Golf Tournament
A Fundraiser for Friends of Mahaska County Conservation
Attention golfers and sports enthusiasts! The Friends of Mahaska County Conservation is hosting an Ice Golf Tournament as a fundraising event to help raise money for the new Environmental Learning Center that will be built at Caldwell Park near Oskaloosa.
The Ice Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Russell Wildlife Area ponds. The tournament will consist of 36 two-person teams competing in a nine-hole tournament with shotgun tee times beginning at 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Cost is only $10.00 per person. Golf clubs and balls will be provided. An alternate date of February 2nd has been planned if ice conditions are not sufficient on January 26th. A chili lunch will be served at noon inside the conservation center after the morning rounds and before the afternoon tee time begins.
“No Show” donations and sponsorships for this event are welcomed! Sign up today to reserve your spot and if you do not have a teammate, one can be assigned to you.

Russell Wildlife Area Ponds
1. Participants need to check in at the registration table inside the conservation center.
2. Two-person best ball format will be used. (Two-person teams, each team member will take a shot from each location and the best placed shot will be played next).
3. You must use real clubs and whiffle golf balls (provided, but you may bring your own).
4. There is a preferred lie anywhere on the course, except your score card.
5. Anything off the ponds is out of bounds.
6. There is no penalty for lost balls. If you lose one, take a drop near where you think you lost it, but no closer to the hole.
7. Slower groups: let faster groups play through.
8. Faster groups: slow down.
9. Have fun and remember it is only ice golf.
10. Free will donations will be accepted to benefit the Environmental Learning Center project at Caldwell Park located just east of Oskaloosa. Checks can be made out to Friends of Mahaska County Conservation.
11. Have some chili in the conservation center after the morning rounds and before the afternoon tee time begins.
Please note:
* If ice conditions are not satisfactory to hold the event on January, 26th, the make-up date will be on Saturday, February 2nd.
* Registration fees will not be returned for no-shows and cancelled events. They will be considered a donation. Thank you!
